Abstract
Health effects is one of the most important socio-economic consequences of climate change. That is the main reason to strengthen its relevance in science and in decision making as well as in community adaption. The priority of this paper on the one hand is to present the framework of our research project, and on the other hand is to summarize all experiences based on applying qualitative research techniques such as content-analysis and interviews. The primary object in the first half of our project is to analyse the effects of heat waves on health and health care in Hungary by its theoretical and conceptual conditions. Content-analysis is based on the evaluation of strategic documents at national, regional and local level related to the connection between climate change and public health due to health effects and adaption opportunities. Semi-structured interviews with the relevant stakeholders such as health politician, general parctitioner, leader of ambulance service, local decision maker etc. can give information about institutional preparedness regarding heat waves and its health consequences. The outcomes of this research
project will be useful proposals to improve national, regional and local adaption according to heat waves and its expected social results.
